"Andropol" S.A. is a company possessing huge traditions in the branch of weaving craft. The idea of creating mechanical weaving-mill in Andrychów was born outside the local companies" owners group who stated that it was not possible to transform any of existing factories into mechanical weaving-mill. The idea was realised by Czeczowiczka brothers from Jewish industrialists" family coming from Czechish territory. In the year 1906, in agreement with the local authorities, "Czeczowiczka Brothers" company established "First Galician Mechanical Weaving-mill". At the beginning 470 looms were installed.

Until 1939 the factory had been rebuilding. The factory employed about 1700 people. The most of products were ticking and bedding materials which earned popular brand name as "Materials of Andrychów". The company was strictly connected to the community of Andrychów and surroundings.

After the next stages of extension and modernization "Andropol" became the self-supporting company producing materials in closed cycle. To the beginning of nineties "Andropol" operated as the national-owned company. The beginning of nineties brought new economical, finance and legal reality, which was difficult for many companies to manage with. Those problems also concerned AZPB "Andropol".

Radical changes of the economy and rules of marketing behaviours forced the companies to start adapting processes in order to make their sizes and ways of activity suitable to market demands. In those conditions AZPB Andrychów was joined to the privatisation process started in 1990. On 1st April 1992 it was transformed into single-form national-owned company called AZPB "Andropol" S.A.
